Walk-a-thon - dinsdag 9 maart 2010

Dag allemaal,

Hier de informatie over de walk-a-thon.

Op 27 maart 2010 zullen we vertrekken naar Mexico-City voor 3 maanden. In Mexico-City gaan we verschillende dingen doen (samen met de lokale bevolking). 1 op 1 evangelisatie, drama, sport, health care, homeless ministry, water project en werken met straat kinderen.

Als een fundraiser (geld inzamelen voor een goed doel) voor onze outreach naar Mexico-City zullen wij dinsdag 9 maart 2010 een walk-a-thon (wandeltocht) doen. We zullen 12 km of meer rondom de Swan rivier lopen, hier in Perth.

Alle hulp is welkom. Als je ons wilt sponsoren kun je een eenmalige gift geven of ons sponsoren per km.

Compassion DTS Walk-A-Thon 2010

Greetings from Youth with a Mission Perth, Australia! We, the Compassion Discipleship Training School, are preparing to go on our overseas outreach. We still need finances for outreach, so in order to help with raising these finances we are doing a walk-a-thon on Tuesday, March 9th 2010.

Where are we going?

Our whole school will be spending all 11 weeks of outreach in Mexico City! This is the capital of Mexico, and one of the largest cities in the world. As Youth With A Mission Perth, we will focus on this city for the entire year of 2010, sending all our training programs into this city.

What are we doing?

As a school, we have been learning so much about God’s character and growing personally in our relationship with Him. Now we want to take this good news out of the classroom and into the world, for God has called us to “Go and make disciples of all Nations” (Matt 28:19)!

In Mexico City we will be doing a variety of things, all in partnership with local believers:

Evangelism – 1-on-1 evangelism, open airs, drama’s, skits, Jesus film, sports, etc…
Training – health care seminars, youth groups, evangelism seminars, DTS seminars etc…
Mercy/Compassion – feeding programs, health care, homeless ministry, street kids, water projects, etc…

As we partner with local churches/youth groups and take them out with us, our heart is to train them to continue to reach out to their own city once we’re gone. In this way we’re trusting for an ongoing impact of Jesus’ love into Mexico City!

How can you be involved?

We would love for you to help support us as we go to Mexico! On Tuesday, March 9th all 35 of us in the DTS will be doing a walk-a-thon around the Swan River here in Perth. Most students will do 12 km of walking but some may do more!!! Would you consider sponsoring our team by pledging money that will help us reach out to Mexico?
